Spread the loveThough STITCHES South has arrived and gone in full splendor, I keep grinning from ear to ear whenever I reminisce about my adventures in Atlanta. It was not just the main events that were wonderful, but the various people I had met who made my trip memorable. The best part is that I…
Knitters in the Kitchen – Knit Talk 2011/08/16
Spread the loveI have had many opportunities to hang out at various friends’ kitchens to chit chat about life, nosh on favorite bites, or work on WIPs. I managed to snap a few photographs of these kitchens. Though I really wish I photographed being in both Tanya Brooks‘ (aka The Indigo Muse) and Susan Gibbs‘…

Spread the loveIn a few hours (past 8:30AM-ET for me), clocks will mark the exact time when a plane crash began the most devasting attack on the United States. My stomach still goes into knots when I think of that day’s events, and hearing everyone’s stories recalling what happened creates a bond amongst us. Here…
The Bigsock Cometh to STITCHES East
Spread the loveAfter the incredible deluge of folks who knitted on the Bigsock at Rhinebeck, it seemed only appropriate that I take this puppy on the road with me to STITCHES East. I picked up my buddy Erin (LittleWit on Ravelry) of the “Half Acre Goods” blog at the correct airport (I first went…

Two years? It still feels like yesterday to me, seeing this tragedy pierce the hearts of millions.
I’m glad you said something- I think I’ll give my wonderful goat vet a call- she graduated from there just a few short years before. I hope the families, friends, and everyone who was affected is able to find some peace.
I was visiting Washington DC after the tragedy and happen to be at the National Catherdral the day of the Memorial Service held there. At one of the hotel lobbys near the White House there was a memorial table dedicated to the students who died. As a visitor from California I was honored to be able to pay my respects to these young people. I hope the families are healing from their losses, though they will never forget.
