Satisfying the Unsettled
Spread the loveSometimes I feel like there is something “off” inside. It could be my mind, heart, or even my whole body. Whatever the case, a dose of comfort beckons me. Recently I found myself lunching at Hokkaido Buffet in the hope that their prepared foods would soothe my soul. As I tasted my selections,…
Temptation Is Rapturous
Spread the loveThis Saturday was the Bloggers’ meet up over at Sakonnet Purls. In their latest newsletter, they announced that the Addi Turbo Lace needles have arrived. Since I have a good number already, they are not the temptation I am pining for. However, this favorite LYS has Reynolds’ Rapture on sale at $5 a…
Finding Time to Spare
Spread the love “Hola” my friends. Offered to all is a gratuitous bunny photo of Zydeco spooning Jessica Bunny. Feels like it has been forever since I last wrote. Granted, I have been busying away on projects on both personal and work levels. I still have no reason to neglect everyone. While home, besides my…
The Heart in Yarn – Knit Talk 2011/09/25
Spread the loveLast week, I was the guest blogger for Jaybird Designs and wrote a piece about rediscovering crochet. Lately I have been reflecting on what appeal crafting in yarn does not only for me, but for my friends. The last time you saw the above sweater, I left a teaser about it. Well what…

Spread the loveThough I have been in Blacksburg since Halloween 2009, not until I met the folks at Main-Lee Art Gallery did the phrase “First Friday” ever reach my ears. The words reference an open house occurring once a month for art galleries across major cities in the United States. I was excited to participate…

No, work does not count! 😉 First there are the “big swaps” of Secret Pal 10, Knitters Treat Exchange, and Sockapalooza. While reading…

Two years? It still feels like yesterday to me, seeing this tragedy pierce the hearts of millions.
I’m glad you said something- I think I’ll give my wonderful goat vet a call- she graduated from there just a few short years before. I hope the families, friends, and everyone who was affected is able to find some peace.
I was visiting Washington DC after the tragedy and happen to be at the National Catherdral the day of the Memorial Service held there. At one of the hotel lobbys near the White House there was a memorial table dedicated to the students who died. As a visitor from California I was honored to be able to pay my respects to these young people. I hope the families are healing from their losses, though they will never forget.
